ABOUT
Michael Kenihan is a business strategist, sports physiotherapist, entrepreneur and healthcare innovator with more than 40 years of experience spanning allied health, business leadership, education and regenerative medicine.
Over the course of his career, he has held executive leadership roles including General Manager of LifeCare Health, one of Australia's largest allied health networks (now part of Zenitas Ltd), and senior leadership positions with Independent Practitioner Network (IPN). His work has centred on helping practitioners, organisations and healthcare businesses grow through stronger leadership, better systems and long-term strategic thinking.
Today, his focus extends across six complementary businesses. Through MK Consulting, he mentors practitioners, business owners and leaders to build stronger businesses and make better decisions. As Founder and Director of Leading Sports Medicine Practices (LSMP), he is developing an independent network of practitioner-led sports medicine clinics that creates opportunities for leadership and future business ownership. He also serves as Director of Melbourne Stem Cell Centre and Magellan Stem Cells, supporting the advancement of regenerative medicine, clinical research and biotechnology, while R-U-ONTRAK provides a technology platform that helps individuals track meaningful goals and recovery. Through YM3, he continues to mentor leaders and support organisational growth.
In 2023, he published The Health Practitioner's Journey, outlining a practical framework for helping health professionals progress from clinical excellence to leadership, business ownership and long-term career fulfilment.
Whether mentoring a practitioner, building a healthcare business or advancing medical innovation, his work is guided by a simple belief: develop better people, build better organisations, and better outcomes will follow.
